Tiverton, Ontario (16 September 2009) - Members of AMEC NCL (employees & contractors) recently passed two million hours worked without a Loss Time Injury (LTI) on the Bruce A Restart Project.
"We are truly pleased with the support of all of our team members to execute work safely day in and day out," said Bill Bacon, Director, AMEC NCL. "Safety is a key priority, both for Bruce Power and AMEC, and we are gratified to be able to celebrate this achievement."
In honour of this accomplishment, a barbecue was scheduled for September 16 at the CAW Family Education Centre in Saugeen Shores.
The Bruce A Restart Project is one of the largest and most challenging engineering projects to take place in North America. Once restarted, Units 1 and 2 will return another 1,500 MW of clean electricity to the Ontario market, bumping Bruce Power's total output to more than 6,200 MW, or enough to light one in every four light bulbs in the province.
