London, United Kingdom (5 July 2005) - Further to the offer that was announced on
21 June 2005, AMEC plc has completed the acquisition of NNC Holdings
Limited ("NNC"), the UK's leading private sector nuclear services business.
The cost of the acquisition was £25.3 million plus net debt of £13.7 million as expected.
"The nuclear market is one of the most exciting new prospects we see today," said Sir Peter Mason, AMEC's chief executive. "NNC adds important new skills and a significant base of nuclear engineering expertise. We are now in the best shape to support work operating, maintaining and decommissioning the civil nuclear infrastructure in the UK, as well as to target opportunities in Canada and around the world."
